Sandlog

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

In short: your dreams stay on your phone. We run no server and see none of your entries. The only copy that leaves the device is the backup you choose to send to your own Google Drive.

Who we are

Sandlog is a voice dream journal made by Nathan de Castro ("we"), available on Android and iOS. Contact: contact@coldsnap.fr.

What stays on your device

Your dream entries (text, date and time), their edits and your settings are stored only in the app's storage on your device. We do not collect them and they are never sent to us. There is no account to create.

Speech recognition

When you speak, Sandlog uses the speech recognizer built into your phone: Apple's on iOS, Google's on Android. Depending on your device and language, the recognizer may process the audio on Apple's or Google's servers under their own privacy policies (Apple, Google). Sandlog keeps only the text; audio is not stored after transcription.

Google Drive backup (optional)

If you connect Google Drive in Settings, Sandlog signs in with your Google account and asks for the drive.file permission only: it can see and edit the backup files it creates, nothing else in your Drive. The app reads your Google account's email address only to show which account is connected; it stays on your device. The backup goes from your phone straight to your Drive; we never receive it. You can sign out in Settings, and remove Sandlog's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

What we do not do

Deleting your data

Delete any entry in the app, or delete the app to remove all entries from the device. Backups in your Google Drive are yours: delete them from Drive.

Children

Sandlog is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.
